  • A sisters who lives with the girls in the home chat and talk about laughter - who laughs how in the home - which the all laugh about. The Laura Vicuña Centre in Cubao houses 30 street girls who may be orphaned, neglected, abandoned, battered, morally endangered and sexually abused. Laura Vicuña is a non-profit charity working in Manila and in Bacolod in the state Negros Occidental in the Philippines.

  • An old man pushes a cart loaded with rubbish bags through the streets of Central, the business district of Hong Kong. Many old people have to work as rubbish collectors to survive.  Hong Kong is one of the world's leading financial centres along side London and New York, it has one of the highest income per capita in the world as well the moste severe income inequality amongst advanced economies.  7 million people live on 1,104km square, making it Hong Kong the most vertical city in the world.

  • At the end of the dry season the river outside Delafagi has almost dried up and its one of the only water sources left at this time of the year.  Action for Integrated Sustainable Development Association (AISDA) work in the AFAR region of Eastern Ethiopia, based in Delafagi. The Afars practise an old tradition of Female Genital Mutilation where the baby girls has her clitoris and labia cut away and her vagina sewn up. The day before her wedding day the girl is un-stiched ready for marriage. Its a brutal and barbaric tradition which AISDA is challenging with great effect, now more than a hundred girls in Dowe district have been saved from the knife and AISDA is now rolling out the scheme in Delafagi. Delafagi is where the oldest ever human remains have been found, the found is thought to be 4.5 mill years old.

The Alola Foundation provide pre-school play and learn sessions. Education in Timor-Leste is very basic with classes up to 80 children and teachers trained under an old fashined system with very little inter-action between teacher and pupils..Fundasaun Alola is a not for profit non government organization operating in Timor Leste to improve the lives of women and children. Founded in 2001 by the then First Lady, Ms Kirsty Sword Gusmao, the organization seeks to nurture women leaders and advocate for the rights of women.

  • The Stars Foundation visiting S.A.F.E in the Loita Hills near the Tanzanian border in Kenya...It is mainly Maasais who live in the Loita Hills up above the Serengeti plains. They live in small villages and communities called bomas and live mainly of raising and selling live stock such as cattle and goats. Its a very remote region in Kenya, hard to get to without a four wheel drive with very little infrastructure and up till 2010 no mobile phone network. The Maasais are well known though out Kenya and the world for their colorful clothing and their way of keeping their old traditions alive...With very little traffic and no public transport coming across a potential lift is precious. The three men has been to the cattle market in Ilkering and are walking back home, a good 6 hour walk. The pick-up truck run by S.A.F.E is almost fully loaded and only the front man gets his much wanted lift.

The London Stock Exchange was attempted occypied in solidarity with Occupy Wall in Street in New York and in protest againts the economic climate, blamed by many on the banks. Police managed to keep people away fro the Patornoster Sqaure and the Stcok Exchange and thousands of protestors stayid in St. Paul's Square, outside St Paul's Cathedral. Many camped getting ready to spend the night in the square.

  • Climate activists from the Building Block, one of three groups of activists, are making their way across fields and pass police to join the ongoing blockade of Coryton oil refinery. The oil refinery is now in sight. The flags are for people who do not know the route to follow...Crude Oil Awakening is a coalition of climate change activist groups. On Saturday Oct 16 they shut the only entrance to Coryton oil refinery in Essex, UK with the aim of highlighting the issues of climate change and the burning of fossil fuels. The blockade meant that a great number of trucks with oil were not able to leave the refinary during the day of action.

Warren and Sally are one of the few families which is run by a couple. ..Home from Home provide security for children who are either orphans or have been abandoned, neglected or abused . Many of the children have suffered severe abuse and more than half are HIV positive. Home from Home set up foster homes of no more than six children in local communities where there is a need and employ women to run the homes and become the registered foster mother of the children.

The West coast of Denmark consists largely of huge sandy beaches which are a popular tourist destination, especially in summer time. The water can be treacherous with huge waves and strong undercurrents so life guards are on constant look out.

  • 4.5 gr of gold, with a price tag of ca. $126.00. The mines in the small community near Bolgatange in Northern Ghana are dug with shovels and spades and held up by timber, all very precarious. The mine shafts go deep into the ground and run along under the surrounding fields. The small community which has sprung up around the gold finds consists of poor people from all over Northern Ghana,most of them now stuck, not making much money and in dept to their gold dealers.

  • March 26 was the day of the March for the Alternative, an anti-cut demonstration organised by the TUC, which drew 3-500.000 people from all over Britain. Along side and after various groups, some Black Bloc, some from UK Uncut and other independent groups staged their own protests around Central London. 100s of UK Uncut activists took over Fortnum and Mason for a good 3 hours. The occupation was peacefull and not even a chocolate bunny was hurt in the process. The owner of Fotnum and Mason, Whittington Investments is accused by UK Uncut of tax evasion to the tune of £ 40 million. Speeches were made throughout the day and ongoing discussions on how to deal with police. Green smoke from a smoke bomb thrown outside the doors to Picadilly.
