Dixon is a member of the S.A.F.E theatre group. S.A.F.E is a charity which educates children and young people about life skills and how to protect themselves from HIV and other STIs through performance. They also do performances about Female Genital Mutilation, an old tradition amongst the Maasais in Loita and a very brutal and controversial custom which S.A.F.E is trying to eradicate.

Maria has bee doing .exclusive breast feeding but has started complimentary feeding. She cooks rice and veggies and beans. .She is a member of mother's support group where they share knowledge. Every month she visits house holds of pregnant women to give advice. Her husband is a farmer, he grows veggies and sell some and feed the family as well. Maria has been trained by Alola, she understands the importance of nutritious food but its her first attendants at this workshop. She has got 4 other children, oldest is 12.  .Infant mortality rates are very high in Timor-Leste and one of the reasons for that is poor nutrition. Alola advocate breast feeding till at least two years old and teach women about nutritious supplements such as boiled and mashed rice w vegetables and eggs.  Fundasaun Alola is a not for profit non government organization operating in Timor Leste to improve the lives of women and children. Founded in 2001 by the then First Lady, Ms Kirsty Sword Gusmao, the organization seeks to nurture women leaders and advocate for the rights of women.

FGM is a traditional rite of passage for girls into womanhood. FGM has many forms in Kenya, in the Loita Hills FGM involves that the girl's clitoris and inner and outer labia is cut of, an extremely painful and dangerous procedure with  liflong medical and psychological implications. Here a teacher is explaining about HIV/AIDS and how to protect oneself from being infected.

  • Disability Action Network (DAN) is based in Hargeisa in Somaliland and a charity working with disabled children and young people helping them to access health care and provide them with therapeutic rehabilitation. DAN supply and fit orthopaedic appliaces and physiotherapy when needed. Somaliland is a very poor country and to many not living in the capital Hargeisa health care is very difficult to come by..DAN received the STARS Foundation Health Award in 2008 for outstanding work.   • The Stars Foundation visiting Action in the Community Environment (ACE) in Bungoma, Kenya...A boy is bringing goats feed to Metrine Juma Muuangu's goats.  The dairy goats are of a special breed which has a very high milk production capability and the goats, a male and female, have been donated to him by ACE to help her supply her family with enough milk to sell as well as feed her family of 9. The off-spring of the two goats are then donated to other designated recipients in the community to spread the benefit of the goats wider.

  • Dima, former dancer from Damascus, Syria, works in the bar and restaurant Mezzian in Hamra district of Beirut. She came to Beirut in January 2012 fleeing threats to kill and rape her from the Ghosts - Assad regime fanatics. Her sister was politically active and had to flee the country and eventually so did Dima. Working in the Mezzian as their head chef is how she makes a living but she really wants to get back into dancing again. She dreams about joining her sister in Norway and to continue her dance career there, away from the neighbouring war in Syria. Before taking up dancing she was twice Syrian national champion in Thai-boxing.

It was her 2nd round of tuberculosis brought on by her lifestyle and environment. She sits with her mix of Lucozade and rum which she drinks along with beers most days. Lorna came to East London from Scotland when she was a young teenager and now lives in Hackney.

  • Caroline Mbulwa, 24, outside her house with her mother and siblings. Caroline is a Nairobits graduate and now works a successful web designer. She is the sole provider of the family and with her income they have managed to buy a new home in a better part of the slums.  Nairobits is a charity teaching kids from Nairobi's slums It and train them to get work in the IT sector.Every year 1mill young people graduate and leave school and only 1/3 have any hope of getting a job. Nairobits aim to train more than 500 young people / year from the slums, some with only basic formal education, how to set up their own business or get a job in the growing IT sector in Kenya.

The help line programme is called My Question my Answer(MY QandA) and young people can ask any questions related to sexual health or relationships. Most questions are dealt with via text which is a free service but calls can also be made if the questions raised are too complicated or severe. Education As a Vaccine Against Aids (EVA) in Nigeria.

  • In Dowe district. Helema, Sheik Mohammad,and Ali Sultaan all advocates for stopping FGM. Helema sits on the community council with Sultaan and is head of Women and Children's office in Dowe. She is unmarried. Ali has three daughters, the oldest was cut but he has since change his mind an  d his two younger ones are not. The Sheik is  a scholar of the Quran and works with AISDA to tell people that FGM is NOT a part Islam and that no other Muslim communities perform FGM.  Action for Integrated Sustainable Development Association (AISDA) work in the AFAR region of Eastern Ethiopia, based in Delafagi. The Afars practise an old tradition of Female Genital Mutilation where the baby girls has her clitoris and labia cut away and her vagina sewn up. The day before her wedding day the girl is un-stiched ready for marriage. Its a brutal and barbaric tradition which AISDA is challenging with great effect, now more than a hundred girls in Dowe district have been saved from the knife and AISDA is now rolling out the scheme in Delafagi. Delafagi is where the oldest ever human remains have been found, the found is thought to be 4.5 mill years old.

She used to sell in the street but with the help and support of Alola she has now manged to expand her business and set up shop. The London Stock Exchange was attempted occypied in solidarity with Occupy Wall in Street in New York and in protest againts the economic climate, blamed by many on the banks. Police managed to keep people away fro the Patornoster Sqaure and the Stcok Exchange and thousands of protestors stayid in St. Paul's Square, outside St Paul's Cathedral. Many camped getting ready to spend the night in the square.

  • March 26 was the day of the March for the Alternative, an anti-cut demonstration organised by the TUC, which drew 3-500.000 people from all over Britain. Along side and after various groups, some Black Bloc, some from UK Uncut and other independent groups staged their own protests around Central London. 100s of UK Uncut activists took over Fortnum and Mason for a good 3 hours. The occupation was peacefull and not even a chocolate bunny was hurt in the process. The owner of Fotnum and Mason, Whittington Investments is accused by UK Uncut of tax evasion to the tune of £ 40 million Here an activist take a chance to smell some of the teas on offer in the shop.

The NHS Mobile X-ray Unit visiting St Pauls Church drop-in  in Onslow Square, London SW7. The rates of tuberculosis in London are higher than any other Western European capital and is a major health problem. Tuberculosis is highly contagious, it is treatable, but in the event of no treatment it is often deadly. The MXU, the Mobile X-ray Unit, is a facility run by the NHS. The MXU is a Tuberculosis screening service on wheels where people can have their chest x-rayed and within minutes be either cleared of TB - or in case of any TB symptoms showing up on the X-rays, be referred to a hospital for further tests and possible treatment. The MXU is aimed at hard to reach groups like homeless people, drug or alcohol abuser and prisoners. The van is the only one in the UK and operates around London where it visits hostels, prisons and community centres where groups of hard to reach clients usually gather. On the van is a team of nurses, radiographers, social and outreach workers and expert technicians..The MXU van is a part of the NHS department Find and Treat

  • Thousands turn out in pro-Ukrainian peace protest calling for an end to Putin’s war in Ukraine on the 27th of February 2022, Trafalgar Square, Central London, United Kingdom. A woman with a sign in honour for an Ukrainian solider, Vitaly, who blew himself and a bridge up defending against Russina army. The war in Ukraine has been raging for 4 days and many across the world have turned out to show their support and sympathy for the Ukrainian people and their disgust with the Russian President Vladimir Putin.
