Robert came to Nairobi in 1992 and lives alone in Mukuru slum. His family live 450 km out of Nairobi, Robert is their only hope for a better life and financial security..Nairobits is a charity teaching kids from Nairobi's slums IT and train them to get work in the IT sector.Every year 1mill young people graduate and leave school and only 1/3 have any hope of getting a job. Nairobits aim to train more than 500 young people / year from the slums, some with only basic formal education, how to set up their own business or get a job in the growing IT sector in Kenya.

The counsellors manning the phones are all trained volunteers working in 12 hour shifts. The calls they take can range from advice on where to go to get more information on various forms of child abuse, to taking calls prompting immediate action to rescue a child somewhere in Kenya. The counsellors' identity is kept secret to protect them from risk...The help line number is 116, the first 3-digit only helpline number in Africa.

  • The Stars Foundation visiting Action in the Community Environment (ACE) in Bungoma, Kenya. ..A put-and-take lake built by ACE. Members of a local association of HIV positive men breed fish in the pond to supplement their diet with much needed nutrition. The men catch the fish both to feed themselves and their families and also when they have the surplus to sell in the local market to make money. Some of the children whos fathers run the pond. The pond is surrounded by fileds of sugar canes.

  • A refugee family on their way to Sweden and safety on a train from Copenhagen. Volunteers can be seen in the reflection. An unprecedented number of refugees arrived from Germany in early September, most being Syrian war refugees, some from Afghanistan. Most wanted to travel on to Sweden and a number of Danish citizens created a spontanious network to assist the refugees with travel, food, clothes and psycological support.

  • Two activists climbed a DLR train at Canary Wharf station and one super glued himself to the carriage, 17th April 2019, Canary Wharf, London,United Kingdom. Reflections of police removing a hand glued onto the DLR carriage window. The environmental protest group Extinction Rebellion has called for civil disobedience and peaceful protest to force the British government to take drastic action on climate change. The group wants the governement to tell the truth and admit that the impact of climate change is much more severe than they say and that action to mitigate catastrophic climate change is urgent.

  • Electronic waste export to Nigeria...Alaba International Market, one of the largest markets for electronic goods in West Africa.  New and old - and a lot of non-working electronic goods such as TVs and computers come in to the market via Lagos harbour from the US, Western Europe and China...Second hand Philips televisons.  The area boys - "the security team", can be seen reflected in the tvs.. .The shipment - TV-set originally delivered to municipality-run collecting point in UK for discarded electronic products - was tracked and monitored by Greenpeace using a combination of GPS (Global Positioning System using satellites), GSM (positioning using data from mobile networks to triangulate approximate positions) and an onboard radiofrequency transmitter (used for making triangulations in combination with handheld directional receivers used by team on ground) is placed inside the TV-set.  The TV arrived in Lagos in container no 4629416.

The giant polar bear puppet Aurora made by Greenpeace walked the streets of London in defence of the Arctic as part of a Greenpeace global day of action. The parade,part performance part protest, was to highlight the melting ice caps and the increasing and potentially devastating oil drilling in the arctic sea. Shell is one of the companies drilling and the march through London ended up outside Shell London HQ to draw attention to their oil business in the arctic. Aurora, the biggest polar bear in the world represents all endangered species in arctic.
