  • An entertainer makes giant soap bubbles in the spring sun outside the National Gallery in Trafalgar Square. A small group of children of all ages play and laugh and try to grab the bubbles as the float by in the air. It is sprin time and the air warm.

  • Women queue to receive food parcels in connection with a pedicure workshop set up in the slums along side a film screening on human trafficking. There is very little work in the slums and many women do not have any vocational training so being able to set up a small shop in the streets providing pedicure is a great help to many women.  Because of poverty and lack of income children and young women are easy prey to human traffickers and the foundation aim to teach the dangers of trafficking by showing films in a mobile cinema. Laura Vicuña is a non-profit charity working in Manila and in Bacolod in the state Negros Occidental in the Philippines.

  • Students at the ALS after having finished school. The Alternative Learning System (ALS) Program - provides working children with an alternative to finish either elementary or secondary education without undertaking activities in the formal school system.  ALS students are provided with self-learning modules, which they go through at their own pace.  Their progress is monitored by program staff when they visit the CDRTC once a week..Casa Maria Ausilitrice Laura Vicuña Women Development and Training Centre in Victorias City, Negros Occidental. Laura Vicuña is a non-profit charity working in Manila and in Bacolod in the state Negros Occidental in the Philippines.
