  • New born Maria latch on to her mother Flaviana's breast. Infant mortality rates are very high in Timor-Leste and one of the reasons for that is poor nutrition. Alola advocate breast feeding til at least two years old and teach women about nutritious supplements such as boiled and mashed rice w vegetabels and eggs.  Fundasaun Alola is a not for profit non government organization operating in Timor Leste to improve the lives of women and children. Founded in 2001 by the then First Lady, Ms Kirsty Sword Gusmao, the organization seeks to nurture women leaders and advocate for the rights of women.

  • Dulce Lopes teach children counting and arithmetics through playing with  string with coloured beads. The Alola Foundation provide pre-school play and learn sessions.   • The Stars Foundation visiting the Kenya Society for the Blind.The Kenya Society for the Blind is a long standing charity which works to make blind people able to function in the community as a whole. They support children in schools and supply them with Braille writers, specialist teachers,glasses for visually impaired,counseling and other much needed tools. .KSB fund the running costs of a specialist unit at Mbagathi Hospital, a state run hospital in Nairobi. The unit perform cataract operations on a regular basis, here a woman partially blind on both eyes is having the first of two new lenses put in instead of her own lenses, an operation performed by Dr Kipet. The operation takes 10-15 minutes and the patients are usually send home again after one night and will be able to see again almost immediately.

Nicole, who has recently become totally blind is reading Braille but otherwise attending a regular class at the Kalimani Primary School.

  • Doofan Yende squeezes out a drop of blood from a child's finger to perform a HIV/Aids speed test. 120 children were tested in an afternoon, all of them proved negative. EVA provide HCT in three rural communities near Makurdi in Benue state. Benue state has got one of the highest HIV prevalence in Nigeria and EVA aim to target vulnerable children who would otherwise miss out of being tested for HIV and therefor not know their HIV statues.   • The Stars Foundation visiting S.A.F.E in the Loita Hills near the Tanzanian border in Kenya...It is mainly Maasais who live in the Loita Hills up above the Serengeti plains. They live in small villages and communities called bomas and live mainly of raising and selling live stock such as cattle and goats. Its a very remote region in Kenya, hard to get to without a four wheel drive with very little infrastructure and up till 2010 no mobile phone network. The Maasais are well known though out Kenya and the world for their colorful clothing and their way of keeping their old traditions alive...The charity S.A.F.E which is mainly a thetra group is also working local partners in educating youngsters about HVI/AIDS and Female Genital Mutilation. FGM is a traditional rite of passage for girls into womanhood. FGM has many forms in Kenya, in the Loita Hills FGM involves that the girl's clitoris and inner and outer labia is cut of, an extremely painful and dangerous procedure with  liflong medical and psychological implications. Here a teacher is using a model of the female genitalia to explain the procedure to the young students, some of them who will soon be facing their own rite of passage.

Local entrepreneur Peter Marquis passes the protesters giving them all two fingers. The struggle against fracking in Lancashire has been going on for years. The fracking company Quadrilla is finally ready to bring in a drill tower to start drilling and anti-frackinhg activists are waiting in front of the gates to block the equipment getting in.
