Helen climbed the tripod at the rear of the plane and was the last one arrested after ten hours.
“I was very familiar with the site itself so I was kind of very focused on making sure people knew where we were and what we would be doing. I knew from the previous day that I was more comfortable climbing the tripod without my shoes on so I decided to take my shoes off in the minibus and put them in my back pack and do the thing barefoot because I wanted to be as efficient as possible because I could grip more. So I cut the fence without my shoes and I remember feeling the grass, the slightly wet grass underneath my feet and the gravelly cold tarmac and there was a real sense of purpose and calmness and we need where we were going. We had split into groups and in my group of people we were just like, honestly I am just so proud of them because we just did it so spot on. Nick bent over and gave me a boost, Ruth helped me up as well, she pushed me up, I have got no upper arm strength and I don’t know how I did it. I was so pleasantly surprised I made it to the top. The police were so quick and because I was in that position I could see their vehicles driving towards us and I was shouting “cops!”.”
