A pro-Israeli man taunts the other side with a set of keys as a pro-Palestine demonstration meets a pro-Israel demonstration outside the gates of University College London in Gower Street on the 25th of May 2024, London, United Kingdom. The keys are a symbol to Palestinians of their right to return to the homes they had to flee from when Israel was created in 1948 and the man is mocking the Palestinians aspirations to return. Police kept the crowds off the street to let traffic flow and no arrests were made in spite of the provocative taunts by some of the pro-Israel protesters. For weeks UCL students have had a pro-Palestine divestment camp on site like many other universities across the UK. The students want the university to divest from any investments in Israeli companies and to cut all ties with Israeli based universities because of the ongoing onslaught and siege by Israel on Gaza and their occupation of the West Bank in Palestine.
