Anti-monarchy protest against the coronation of King Charles on the 6th of May 2023 in Central London, United Kingdom. Hundreds of protesters, many from the group Republic, gathered by the perimeter fence to the coronation route in Trafalgar Square before marching through the city. It was a loud but jolly crowd shouting “not my king” and singing songs demanding democracy and “down with the monarchy and up the republic”. The police followed the march closely but let it pass.
