Maliau Basin Conservation Area, Borneo, Malaysia.
The Maliau Basin in central Borneo is one of the world’s last remaining areas left untouched by man. Also known as The Lost World of Sabah, the basin is encircled by a tall mountain ridge shielding its 70,000 hectares of pristine rainforest from outsiders. Only a few people are allowed into the forest, namely researchers and a small number of tourists which help financing the research projetcs.
