Bp Or Not Bp Makes A Replica Mosaic In The British Museum Asking The Museum To Drop BP Sponsorship

BP or not BP? assembled a mosaic in the museum’s main hall over the course of the day in reference to the current 'Legion' exhibition about Romans on the 1st of June 2024, London, United Kingdom. Heavily referencing the Mask of Phobos mosaic from 4C CE in the museum's own collection, it depicts Phobos, the god of fear and a harbinger of war. Members of the public, including families, participated with the mosaic's creation. Some of the time, while the mosaic was laid, the museum shut because of a Coalition of Palestine and climate activists taking over the court yard, demanding end to BP sponsorship. The museum was later reopened and the mosaic and the people laying it were allowed to leave.
