45 imagesThe 2011 STARS Award Asia went to 2 organizations in Nepal and one based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The awards are given for outstanding work by a locally based charity working with children. CSID from Bangladesh won the award in the Education category, Restless Development won the award in the Health category and Good Weave Foundation won the award in the Protection category. The images are snap shots from Nepal and Bangladesh where many children grow up with great difficulties and of the organizations which work to alleviate their predicaments.

50 imagesA shortlist of 16 local NGOs from across Africa and Asia were in the run for the prestigious STARS Impact Award 2012. Each organization provides a unique service to children in need in their communities. These 50 images are of 7 different organizations in 6 different countries in two continents.

35 imagesIn 2010 the STARS Award was won by Africa Educational Trust (AET) in Somaliland, Action in the Community Environment (ACE) in Kenya and Childline Kenya. A previous winner is Disability Action Network(DAN), also in Somaliland. Runners up in 2010 were Kenya Society for the Blind(KSB) and Sponsored Arts For Education (S.A.F.E.). A Rising Star was awarded to the South African organization Home from Home.
