DESCRIPTION: Mohamad Nahle, 32.
Mohamad stepped on a cluster bomb while trying to save some one else who had just been blown up by another cluster bomb. He used to work as a volunteer in the Civil Defence as a paramedic and on the last day of the war last summer he was called out to rescue some one who had been injured by a cluster bomb. In the rush to get to the person he entered the bomb ridden area without precaution stepping on a cluster bomb. He had to have almost all of his right leg amputated with only 20cm left after the operation.
He is now unemployed, living at home with his mother and sisters.
Photographed outside The Philanthropic Association For Disabled Care(PADC)
where he got his prosthetic leg and receives his rehabilitation. PADC is a Lebanese charity working for the disabled.
